Snake's Rage
Today I was going to Bubz’s house and I noticed a very rare sight. I saw a snake’s dress bought from the Milan Fashion week (pun intended). But I suppose the dress was not upto the snake’s standards. Very mercilessly he/she (I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing him/her personally) shed it off on the road.
Just by the look of it, you can know that it must have cost the poor animal a fortune. Anyway I hope Sir/Madam must have got a new dress more to the liking of their friend’s circle. Alternatively the animal must have met with an accident and the dress got torn. So he/she dumped it there.
What if the animal is a lady/girl? Cud have had a fight with her parents over the choice of dress. The parents must have put their foot down and said NO WAY. Poor soul, she had sobbed and shed her dress here, enroute to the party. (what say abt my story)
Whatever the case may be, but I felt very bad at seeing such a fashionable dress like that lying on the road (Hee Hee Haa Haa).
Blue Cross of Hyderabad
The main torchbearer is of course Amala Akkineni supported whole heartedly by her husband. Born to an Irish mother and Bengali father, this lady was known to be very compassionate toward animals. At a very your age she became a vegetarian and whenever in doubt a quick trip to the neighborhood butcher's, strengthened her convictions about vegetarianism.
This particular poster is on a metal plate near Vikas’s house. It carries the photograph of John Abraham (popular Bollywood actor) with road side Dog. Such kinds of poster do inspire us to take up animals who may or may not b of famous lineage (read award winning animals). We shud take animals and treat them with love and care as we do with our children.
But I still find a few of my neighbors to be irresponsible enough to feed our colony dogs but not provide them shelter. They just leave them on their own. They have become a menace now. Wud we leave our children like that???
NO! DEFINITELY NO!
Then why do we do to pets?
Happy new year (Bengali)
The Hindu solar calendar based on the Surya Siddhanta commences in mid-April of the Gregorian year. The first day of this calendar is celebrated as the traditional New Year in various parts of South Asia, including Assam, Bengal, Kerala, Manipur, Nepal, Orissa, Punjab, Tamil Nadu and Tripura.
Under the Mughals, agricultural taxes were collected according to the Hijri calendar. However, as the Hijri calendar is a purely lunar calendar, it does not coincide with the harvest. As a result, farmers were hard-pressed to pay taxes out of season. In order to streamline tax collection, the Mughal Emperor Akbar ordered a reform of the calendar. Accordingly, Fatehullah Shirazi, a renowned scholar and astronomer, formulated the Bengali year on the basis of the Hijri lunar and solar Hindu solar calendars. The new Fasli San (agricultural year) was introduced on 10/11 March 1584, but was dated from Akbar's ascension to the throne in 1556. The new year subsequently became known as BĂ´nggabdo or Bengali year.
Celebrations of Pohela Boishakh started from Akbar's reign. It was customary to clear up all dues on the last day of Choitro. On the next day, or the first day of the new year, landlords would entertain their tenants with sweets. On this occasion there used to be fairs and other festivities. In due course the occasion became part of domestic and social life, and turned into a day of merriment. The main event of the day was to open a halkhata or new book of accounts. This was wholly a financial affair. In villages, towns and cities, traders and businessmen closed their old account books and opened new ones. They used to invite their customers to share sweets and renew their business relationship with them. This tradition is still practised, especially by jewellers.

Nothing new at “poila boishakh”. First of all didn’t know about it till late in the evening. All thru the day work, work, work and uffff… work. By the time I knew abt it, I was enroute to home. So just to celebrate, went out with my mom and sis and had sandwiches at a local bakery. Then I was awake till about 2 O’ clock and then went to bed.
So that’s ma new year celebrations activities. These are a few greetings conveying the message in more colorful way, potraying the essence of kolkata.

Abhishek's "Arm Candy"
Why does Aishwarya need to be an arm candy all of a sudden? She herself is gorgeous enough to garner attention. All this while when she was unmarried she used to walk alone, looking extremely confident, but the scenario changed after marriage. She is always seen clinging to abhishek as if for support. She no longer looks confident but the demure wife who is new to all the spot light and is silently asking her husband to help her out.

I Wish...
beautiful, simple yet complicated.
I wish I were a bird,
humming back and forth
singing;
the song of life.
I wish I were a drop of dew,
fresh and new
I wish I were the 1st drops of rain
Washing away the pain and disappointment of…
I wish I were a curled leaf,
fresh and ready to take on the world
I wish I were a cloud,
No!!
A cloud with a silver lining
Full of hopes and a better tomorrow
I wish I were a smile of
A new born child,
innocent and pure
I wish I were a 1st rays of sunshine
Bringing a new tomorrow;
Into the lives of people,
whom I love so much.

Red Bull at Apex

April Fool’s Day was very remarkable day. 2 ladies had come from a Drinks Company. Red Bull. Red Bull is the brand name of an energy drink that originated in Thailand and, in a version adapted to Austrian tastes, is now popular throughout the world. Sold by Red Bull GmbH as an energy drink to combat mental and physical fatigue. The drink is intended to taste like mixed berries. And believe me, it does.
