Happy New Year

Yesterday we celebrated our Bengali New Year. We went to temple, prayed and then I came back and was sitting at my husband's grandma's place. Near the Kitchen I noticed these small wild mushrooms. Come rain and these wild ones can be seen almost everywhere. So I took my phone started clicking then right-away. well doesn't look edible at all and I don't even want to try them.

And Well to everybody out there, Shubho Naubo Baursho (Happy New Year).

Slurp Slurp...

This pic was taken when I was visiting the Kalibari ( temple of Maa Kali) during my evening walks. This is the inside the temple near the temple courtyard. The dog was busy licking off the water to quench his thirst. I sat there for a while to say my prayers and then walked off.

The Circle of life

There is an old saying in Hindi

"Boye pedh babool ka to aam kahan se hoye" which means that if you sow the plant of babool (a resin secreating plant with thorns) then it will never grow in to a tree of mangoes. Or in other words "you reap what you sow". I have seen many a close relatives and friends not staying with their in-laws or extended family. There are people who are surprised when I tell them that I stay with my inlaws and I intend to go on doing the same. They give me that incredulous look and treat me in a way as if I have uttered something out of this world.

But staying with parents is so natural to me and I have done it all my life. Its just that earlier I stayed with my parents and now after marriage I stay with my husband's parents. And these seems just the most right thing for me to do. And also now that I am expecting my little bundle of joy, I feel I am one of those blessed ones whose child will get the love and affection of grandparents, cousins, uncles and aunts.

Back to the saying. When you yourself dont stay with your family, you cant never expect your children to do the same. I have seen parents being afraid of the fact that what they had done will come and haunt them and their kids would do the same to them too. This is called the circle of life. I always tell this to others and very religiously follow it. If you do good to others then good things will happen to you sooner or later, but if you do bad to other knowingly then you will meet a similar fate sooner or later. Never mind the repurcussions but always do good deeds and try to take even the meanest of words or deeds in a positive manner. Try to overlook the negative aspects of an issue. If not anything it saves you from getting disturbed and prevents negativity in and around you.

Yes I am

Yes I am a victim of physical abuse. Day in and day out I am kicked, and the concerned person is blissfully unaware of the pain or rather cramps I go through. The worst part is I can't even file a complaint anywhere. there are absolutely no sympathetic ears for me. People just smile away and tell me "its so normal". "This is just the beginning". "Isnt it nice to feel".

I am very happy but then I am also very eager to see the culprit :-) dunno what it is. cud be a boy or a girl, but then whatever will be my part forever.

To decide or not

Just a few minutes back I was going thru a news channel "Aaj Tak". They were reporting about the very recent attacks oon ladies visiting pubs at Managalore "the Pub city of India". THey showed the videos of ladies being kicked, slapped and I dunno what not. What I feel is who are these people and who have given them the rights to become our guardians and supecede the freedom given to us by our parents. I mean when our parents don't tell us anything then why these people insult our intelligence by trying to decide for us.

What a movie???

Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (film)
This is a German film directed by Tom Tykwer and based on the novel Perfume by Patrick Süskind.
Set in 18th century France, the film tells the story of a misanthropic, olfactory genius, Jean-Baptiste Grenouille (Ben Whishaw) and his homicidal quest for the perfect scent.
The film begins with the sentencing of Grenouille, a notorious murderer. Between the reading of the sentence and the execution, the story of his life is told in flashback, beginning with his abandonment at birth in a French fish market. Raised in an orphanage, Grenouille grows into a strangely detached boy with a superhuman sense to smell. After growing to maturity as a tanner's apprentice, he makes his first delivery to Paris, where he revels in the new odors. He focuses on a girl selling plums and startles her with his behavior. To prevent her from crying out, he covers the girl's mouth and unintentionally suffocates her. After realizing that she is dead, he strips her body naked and smells her until the scent fades. Afterwards, Grenouille becomes haunted by the desire to preserve scents forever.
After making a delivery to a perfume shop, Grenouille amazes the owner, Giuseppe Baldini (Dustin Hoffman), with his ability to create fragrances. He revitalizes the perfumer's career with new formulas, demanding only that Baldini teach him how to convert scents into perfume. Baldini explains that all perfumes are a harmony of twelve individual scents, and may contain a theoretical thirteenth scent. He also tells a story about a perfume discovered in an Egyptian tomb that was so perfect that it affected the entire world the moment the bottle was opened. However, when Grenouille discovers that Baldini's method will not capture all scents, he becomes depressed and leaves to learn superior methods in Grasse. En route to Grasse, Grenouille realizes that he has no scent of his own, and is therefore a cipher. He decides that creating the perfect smell will prove his worth.

Grenouille stands alone amongst the orgy his perfume has created.
Grenouille finds work in Grasse assisting with perfumes. After some experimenting, he succeeds in preserving the scent of a woman by cutting her hair, covering her in animal fat, and then distilling the fat. To force the woman to undergo the procedure, however, he must kill her. Grenouille embarks on a killing spree, murdering beautiful virgins and capturing their scents. He dumps the girls' naked corpses around the city, creating an uproar that threatens to tear the city apart. Nearing completion, Grenouille selects a beautiful young lady, Laura (Rachel Hurd-Wood), for his thirteenth scent, the lynchpin of his perfect perfume. Laura's wealthy father, Antoine Richis (Alan Rickman) realizes the danger and attempts to flee the city with his daughter. Grenouille tracks her scent to a roadside inn and sneaks into her room that night. The next morning, Richis discovers Laura lying dead in her bed.
Soldiers capture Grenouille moments after he finishes his perfume. On the day of his execution, he applies a drop of the perfume to himself. The executioner and the crowd in attendance are overwhelmed by the beauty of the perfume. They declare Grenouille innocent before falling into an orgy. Walking out of Grasse unscathed, Grenouille has enough perfume to rule the world, but has discovered that it will not allow him to love or be loved like a normal person. He returns to the fish market where he was born and empties his perfume bottle over his head. Overcome by the scent, the nearby crowd devours him.

Ouch that hurts...

Are love games always so enjoying???????
Sometimes no!. Not when I am playing with my husband and "very playfully " I end up getting a box on my nose. My nose throbbed and it pained whenever I sneezed. And the worst part was my dear was absolutely unapolegetic about the whole incident and termed it as an accident.
Why are men so sensitive about cars, gadgets, football, bikes and insensitive about their wives?

Eternal Love: Cartoons

People say all sorts of things. But I still havent stopped watching "these". Well these , ladies and gentlemen are called cartoons. They say you are grown up watch some serious channel why cartoons? but I feel this is something which is 100% pure enjoyment.

I know its not at all real, but then its my own world. Here even if your favourite character falls from a 20 feet high building nothing happens to him. Here you can apply vanishing cream and be invisible, have a scientific lab of your own underneath your house and your parents would not even know of it, have weird animals come out of pokeballs, a small child can beat a man, 100 times his strenght, live in toy land, an becomes your neighbour and girls are born out of chemicals, emotion, love and an unknown element "X".
All through the day I watch them as in repeat telecasts and still do not feel bored. I simply love cartoons. I wish one day I would open my eyes and find all these characters living in my house.

Is there a better way to put that across???

But instead of snow (as snowfall does not happen here), students want something close by, of that nature.

Height of insensitivity

Mumbai, known for fashion, hi lifestyle, clubbing, celebrities and above all Bollywood (the Asian Hollywood). But All of us have, in the past week have definitely gone through the gruesome saga of blood and violence in Mumbai.

Now wait a second, I am not here to re-enact the whole episode, rub salt on those people's losses who have lost a precious someone nor am I going to lambast the government for having a laid back attitude (as always) or the security guys who probably goofed up the entire thing. But I am writing this to understand the depth of "human sensitivity erosion".

A very popular producer of bollywood went with state head and his family member to the blast site not for charity or false show of emotion but to see with his own eyes how actual dead bodies look like, how destruction presents itself in its many ways, how gruesome can death be, how blood get spattered all over the place when a bullet enters a human body. This producer; all he can think is how to show more hatred , more violence, make an hit movie and extract money .
Such a waste of human life and all those values that we teach our children.

Have people forgotten humanity or is this a new fantasy park for jerks like him. I means he is so insensitive that he has to personally visit the site and then doesn't have the guts to admit his doing. The state head, upon asking tells the media that since I was coming he also tagged along. Now how ridiculous can this get? Is he trying to fool the country or himself?

Hope to get my hopes fulfilled

Jaane kya dhoondta hai, ye mera dil
Tujhko kya chaahiye zindagi...
